The Paris Daniel Maghen Gallery is organizing an exhibition (6th – 22nd of June 2013) dedicated to Manchu, the French illustrator and concept artist specialized in Science Fiction.
Manchu (Philippe Bouchet) began his career in the early 80s working on the space ships and sets of two legendary animated TV series that marked several generations: „Ulysses 31” and „Il était une fois l’Espace” (Once Upon the Time…Space). Manchu specialized afterwards starting with 1984 in the SF books covers’ illustration, including the famous collection „La grande anthologie de la science fiction” ( The Great Anthology of Science Fiction). It now has to his credit more than 500 covers’ SF illustrations.
