At Finncon last weekend, several awards were presented:
- The Tähtifantasia Award, a juried award for best translated fantasy book published in Finnish in 2012 went to Uusi maailma (The Modern World) by Steph Swains ton
- The Atorox Award, for best Finnish sf short story published last year and voted by fandom, was given to Anni Nupponen for Joka ratasta pyörittää
- The Finncon short story competition winner was Jalokivihovi by Jenni Kauppinen
- The Tähtivaeltaja short story competition was won by Miikka Pörsti for his short story Raportti. Mikä johti operaatio Tähtivaeltajan epäonnistumiseen
- The first prize in the Nova short story competition (for beginner writers) went to Anna Malinen for Siihen kaarna kasvakohon
