    The 2nd Starship Century Symposium will be held at the Royal Astronomical Society, Piccadilly, London, UK on Monday October 21st 2013.

    Starship Century addresses the challenges and opportunities for our long-term future in space, with possibilities envisioned by featured speaker Lord Martin Rees, Royal Astronomer, Ian Crawford, Birkbeck College, University of London, writer/scientist Stephen Baxter, James Benford, Microwave Sciences, and Gregory Benford, UC Irvine. The London event is headlined by the Astronomer Royal, Lord Martin Rees, as well as featuring talks and panels by James and Gregory Benford, Stephen Baxter and Ian Crawford of Birkbeck College.

    This is the sequel to their enormously successful first symposium, which was held at the Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination at the University of California, San Diego, in May 21st–22nd with the participation of famous world wide scientists, futurists, space advocates and science fiction writers : Freeman Dyson, Paul Davies, Robert Zubrin, Peter Schwartz, Geoffrey Landis, Ian Crawford, James Benford, John Cramer, the science fiction writers included are Neal Stephenson, Gregory Benford, Joe Haldeman, David Brin, Jerry Pournelle, Larry Niven, Vernor Vinge, Allen Steele.
    Starship Century discusses the implications that these explorations might have upon our development as individuals and as a civilization.
