Philip K. Dick European Science Fiction Film Festival has announced the lineup for two special screenings in France and Poland.
The festival returns for a second event in Lille, France on October 24, 2015 at the famous L’Hybride Theater for the Death in Life and the Rise of the Machine block of 14 award-winning short films.
The festival then travels to Łódź, Poland for a landmark Halloween event on October 31, 2015. Screening at the mesmerizing Kino Teatry theater, a 15-hour marathon of 38 films will run from 1pm-4am.
The highly-anticipated events take New York City’s first and only science fiction film festival around the world with engaging and innovative cinematic masterpieces all in honor of the genre’s greatest figure, the one and only Philip K. Dick.
On October 24, the festival presents the Death in Life and the Rise of the Machine film block, a collection of shorts replete with thought-invoking stories, skilled direction, heart-wrenching performances and stunning visuals. Each film is inspired by the writings and ideas of Philip K. Dick. The screening will also hold panels with directors Thomas Charles (Désaffection), Arthur Tabuteau (Avant) and other special guests.
The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival is New York City’s first and only festival of its kind and is organized by individuals and filmmakers who understand the difficulties and challenges of telling a unique story in a corporate environment. With extremely successful 2012-2015 festivals, a 2013 international event in Lille, France and endless screening events the festival is only beginning its vision of honoring the legacy of the great Philip K. Dick. With the presence of accomplished directors, writers, producers and industry leaders who best represent the goals of the festival and original voices and enhanced visions in works submitted, this is a festival created by filmmakers for filmmakers.
The fourth annual Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival will be held in New York City in January 2016.
